Atlético Madrid B have started the second round of the Segunda División B well with a 3-2 win over Getafe B.

In the first match of the season the boys in blue had beaten us 1-0, but this time the Rojiblancos were on the winning end after a miraculous goal gave us the full three points.

Twenty minutes before the end goalkeeper Iago looked to quickly launch a counter attack from a Getafe corner, but he hit the ball with such power that it bounced over his counterpart at the other end and landed in the back of the net.

The goal was a huge relief, as Atleti B had given away a 2-0 lead in the second half. After just seven minutes our youngsters were already two goals up, but Getafe turned things around after the break.

Just sixty seconds after kick off we took the lead, when Regalón headed home from another Mínguez set piece. The left winger has played part in almost all of our goals in recent matches and has delivered two assists to our captain in the last three matches.

Minutes later Collado doubled our lead with another header, this time from a cross by midfielder Noguera.

After the shocking start to the match the visitors started to threaten Iago’s goal, but Pico and Rudy found our goalkeeper in their way.

While Atleti had started the first half brilliantly, it were the Azulones who struck first after the break. Our defenders failed to clear a ball on the wet pitch and Rudy profited by scoring the 2-1.

After Alcalá equalized from a corner in the 64th minute, it seemed this tie could go either way. Until Iago scored his fortunate goal to earn our B team a victory.

Line-up: Iago; César, Regalón, Atienza, Cantero; Fer, Sergio Marcos; Batres, Noguera (“73 Miramón), Mínguez (“88 Míchel); and Collado (“46 Jarjú).

Goals: 1-0 Regalón (“1); 2-0 Collado (“7); 2-1 Rudy (“47); 2-2 Alcalá (“64); 3-2 Iago (“72)
