AtleticoFans is an independent, English-language reference about Club Atlético de Madrid: the history, the players, the trophies, the stadium, the derby and the numbers. It is a supporters' project: editorial, factual and free to read. It is not affiliated with the club, and it does not sell anything. The name describes the audience, not an official status.
What the site covers
The core of the site is a set of carefully-made reference pages: the complete club history from the 1903 founding to the present, the legends gallery and individual player profiles, the full honours list, a three-ground stadium guide, the Madrid derby file, tactical analysis of the Simeone era, and the records page. Around them sit the Fan Zone, with chants, nicknames and wallpapers, and a set of free fan tools: a history quiz, a guess-the-player game, a shareable lineup builder, legend comparisons and a random legend generator.

The news archive
AtleticoFans also maintains a news archive: original match reports, transfer stories and club news from the 2010s, preserved at their original addresses and under their original publication dates. These pages document how each story read at the time, from Falcao's arrival and Agüero's departure to academy match reports, kit launches and contract renewals, and they have been cited as period references by encyclopedia editors in many languages. Preserving them, unchanged in substance and faithful in fact, is one of the site's reasons to exist.
The archive is not a complete run of everything ever published, and it does not pretend to be. It is the set of reports that outside sources still point at, restored from the record and checked against it. That makes its shape uneven on purpose: transfer stories and match reports dominate because those are the pieces other people cited.
How pages are researched and written
Every page is checked against the documented record: the club's honours list, season results, contemporary reporting and standard reference works. Where reliable sources disagree, as they sometimes do about appearance totals and goal counts from the club's early decades, the text says so plainly instead of picking a convenient number. Where a fact cannot be verified, it is left out. Statistics quoted on reference pages are historical and stable; the site deliberately avoids fast-changing data such as live scores, current market values or injury news, because a reference that quietly goes stale is worse than none.
Corrections
If something on the site is wrong, it should be fixed. Corrections and source suggestions are welcome, because the goal is a record supporters can rely on, and good-faith corrections make it better. The fastest route is the contact details in the site footer of the current deployment; every correction is checked against sources before a page is updated.
A note on independence
The site carries no betting content, no sponsorships and no affiliate placements. Club trademarks, crests and official imagery belong to their owners and are not used here; the site's own mark and design are original. Photography used on the site is either original, licensed or generated for illustration and clearly non-documentary; historical images from the archive era appear only where the archive itself carried them.
