Atlético announce Sílvio signing

Atlético Madrid have confirmed the signing of Portugese defender Sílvio from SC Braga on a five-year contract. The club announced the signing of the 23-year-old right-back on its official website. He will be unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday at 12:30. Sílvio confirmed to the media that he was joining Atleti way back in May, after Braga’s loss to Porto in the Europa League final.

Sílvio confirms Atlético move

After his team’s 1-0 loss to Porto in the Europa League final in Dublin on Wednesday, Braga defender Sílvio Manuel Azevedo Ferreira Sá Pereira, better known as simply ‘Sílvio’, admitted he will be signing with Atlético this summer. “I confirm that I am going to Atlético Madrid,” he told the Portuguese press following the clash. “It was my last game in a Braga shirt.”

Atlético reportedly close to signing Sílvio

According to several reports in the Spanish press, Atletico are very close to agreeing terms with Sporting Braga for defender Sílvio. Portuguese paper Récord broke the news early Wednesday, claiming the 23-year-old’s sale to Atleti is imminent.
