With confirmations that Turkish side Besiktas have submitted a firm offer to Atlético for Diego Forlán surfacing in the global press on Thursday, los Rojiblancos’ future offense is starting to come into focus. Borja, Salvio and Adrián will reportedly be competing for the opportunity to start alongside Kun next year, while Costa and Piatti could be in the mix as well.
Almería forward Pablo Piatti told Cadena Cope radio that he has not “received any offers” and “doesn’t know anything” about a pending deal with Atlético. On Wednesday, the Barcelona-based Mundo Deportivo claimed the 22-year-old was set to join los Colchoneros at the end of the season, but Piatti denied those reports, assuring Almería fans that his only objective was to save the team from relegation.
Atlético have reportedly secured the future signing of Almería forward Pablo Piatti. The deal for the speedy Argentine, said to be valued at approximately €10m, will be officially announced shortly after the end of this season, Mundo Deportivo claims. The 22-year-old plays primarily as a left-winger for the currently bottom of the table Almerienses, but can also operate as a striker.
