This summer Atlético signed Arda Turan, Diego, Falcao and seven other first team players. But the club also invested in four more players that we may never even see play for los Rojiblancos. Dani Pacheco, Rubén Micael, Júlio Alves and Samson Olaleye all joined in the off-season but were instantly transferred to other clubs.
On the last day of the transfer window, youngsters Borja González and Leandro Cabrera were loaned out to Real Murcia and Numancia, respectively. At Atlético, the chances of being handed playing time were slim for the duo, who will now likely see plenty of action in la Liga Adelante.
According to the Portuguese Lusa news agency, Atlético will pay Rio Ave €2.5 million for midfielder Júlio Regufe Alves. The 20-year-old will apparently travel to Madrid within the coming days to finalise his transfer. One particular aspect of the deal that will almost certainly draw scorn from the Rojiblanco faithful is that the Portuguese youngster is represented by super agent Jorge Mendes.
