Yannick Carrasco continued his good goalscoring form with a double, with Saúl Ñíguez, Sime Vrsaljko, Ángel Correa and debutant Roberto Núñez also on target at the Estadio Helmántico.

After two successive La Liga defeats, Atlético Madrid put their bad run of form behind them on Sunday afternoon with a much needed 3-0 win away at struggling Osasuna.

Goals from Diego Godín, Kevin Gameiro and Yannick Carrasco sealed the three points, after Jan Oblak denied the home side from the spot early on with an excellent save from Roberto Torres.

Champions League: Atlético 2 – 0 PSV

Atlético Madrid made it 5 from 5 in the Champions League on Tuesday night, winning Group D with a 2-0 win over PSV Eindhoven after Bayern Munich were beaten in Rostov earlier in the day.

Second half goals from French duo Kevin Gameiro and Antoine Griezmann ensured the three points, lifting spirits in the Vicente Calderón after Saturday’s derby disappointment.

It was a night to forget for Atlético Madrid fans on Saturday, as Real Madrid ran out handsome 3-0 winners in the last ever league meeting between the two rivals at the Vicente Calderón.

Atlético Madrid are through to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, winning in controversial circumstances against Russian side FC Rostov on Tuesday night.

Antoine Griezmann scored both goals, including a 94th minute winner to secure the three points and consolidate top spot ahead of Bayern Munich, who were 2-1 winners this evening away at PSV.
