The Belgian was in scintillating form throughout October

Player Of The Month – October

With six goals and two assists in just five matches and a string of influential performances, there really was only one choice for Atlético Madrid’s October Player of the Month award.

Yannick Carrasco has taken his game to a new level this season, and is the runaway winner of our latest prize for the red and whites’ top performer over the last calendar month.

Filipe has enjoyed a spectacular start to the season

Player Of The Month – September

Atlético Madrid started the 2016/17 season slowly with two draws in their first two matches, but have since seen an upturn in form and now sit top of La Liga and their Champions League group.

Not everybody in the squad can claim to have performed right from the get go against Alavés back in August, but one player who has impressed all season long is Filipe Luís.

Has Koke become Spain’s best attacking midfielder?

Euro 2016 is right around the corner and Spain is here to play, potentially win, and to redeem themselves from a horrible 2014 World Cup campaign.

Player Of The Month – April

April turned out to be the pivotal month of the season for Atlético Madrid, and in the big moments, a number of players stepped up and made themselves counted.

Six league wins out of six were ultimately not enough to overhaul Barcelona at the top of La Liga, but Cholo’s men knocked the reigning champions out of Europe and also beat Bayern at the Calderón.

Player Of The Month – March

There were no shortage of candidates, but it’s a familiar face who takes our prize for Atlético Madrid’s best player during the month of March.

After 4 goals in 5 games, scoring in every La Liga game we played and helping us progress in Europe, it’s Antoine Griezmann who gets the acclaim for the second time this season.

Godín was instrumental during February

Player Of The Month – February

He is arguably our most important and influential player, but incredible, Diego Godín is still yet to win the AtléticoFans.com Player of the Month award since it’s inauguration in September 2014.

That may be down in part to the fact we have gotten so used to his consistency that it no longer comes as a surprise, but his performances in February was too good to ignore.

Griezmann has been a key figure in the last two seasons

Player Of The Month – January

With nine games in total, January was by far the busiest month of Atlético Madrid’s season so far, and in terms of results it was also arguably the most turbulent.

The red and whites crashed out of the Copa del Rey with a shock home defeat to Celta Vigo and lost ground in La Liga, but did manage some important wins during the new year marathon of fixtures.

Player Of The Month – December

Despite missing the chance to go top of La Liga for Christmas with defeat at Málaga late in the month, December was a good month for Atlético as they won 6 of their 7 matches.

The rojiblancos secured Champions League qualification as group leaders with an impressive triumph at Benfica, and also came from behind to beat Athletic in an exciting league clash.
