According to reports in the media, Wolfsburg playmaker Diego Ribas is attracting interest from Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian, once tipped to be the ‘Golden Boy’ of the next generation of Seleção stars, has failed to live up to the hype after leaving Werder Bremen for Juventus back in 2009. Atletico could be on the verge of snapping up a great deal, there is, however, a risk that football has seen the best of Diego and it will be a case of valuable money going down the drain.

Zárate to Atleti deal could become reality

According to reports in Italy, Lazio striker Mauro Zárate could be on his way to Spain as Atletico’s replacement for Sergio Agüero.
Apparently, Zárate’s agent, Beppe Bozzo will head to the Vicente Calderón before the end of the week to hold talks with the club about a potential move. Lazio president, Claudio Lotito admitted that while the player isn’t specifically on the market, any offers would be considered.

Falcao reportedly eyed as replacement for Agüero

Atlético are said to be lining up Porto striker Radamel Falcao as a possible replacement for Sergio Agüero should the Argentine get his way and leave the club. The Colombian striker is putting in some impressive performances at the Copa América which have caught the eye of many clubs.
