Atlético Madrid B suffered its first defeat this season, a 2-1 loss to La Roda on Sunday after Kader was sent off just eight minutes into the game.

The right back received his marching orders after bringing down one of La Roda’s forwards. The ensuing penalty was converted by Sergio Ortiz.

Atleti B-coach Milinko Pantic was forced to take off José Collado, scorer of a hat-trick against Celta B, and brought on an extra defender.

Shortly before half time the visitors doubled their lead. Goalkeeper Iago misjudged a free-kick coming in from the left and Buendía volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

After the break Atleti quickly scored a goal to put them back into the game. Pedro Martín tapped the ball into an empty goal after good work by Javi Cantero.

Late on Atleti had a goal controversially disallowed for offside and the match ended in defeat for our youngsters.

Atlético B has picked up four points from the first three league games. On Wednesday the team travels to Lugo to play the local side, after their match was postponed last week due to a Spain U-21 game being hosted at the Anxo Carro stadium.

Line-up: Iago; Kader, César, Regalón, Cantero; Fer, Noguera, Cidoncha (“61 Ndoye), Saúl (“72 Roberto); Collado (“21 Míchel) and Pedro.

Goals: 0-1 Sergio (p.k.)(“9); 0-2 Buendía (“45); 1-2 Pedro (“53)

I think this is just a little slip, the sent-off of Kader was obviously a factor why the team lost, but the young Atleticos did everything they could to tie, unfortunately we couldn’t win but I think this young team can achieve great things because it has a lot of promising youngsters and a great coach, and hopefully, this team achieves promotion to the segunda division this season.

By the way, dear Derek, do you know why Gallegos hasn’t got any playing minutes so far?, I would appreciate if you answer me.
