After a goalless draw in Toledo last week, the B-team hosted Celta de Vigo B on Saturday.

At the Cerro del Espino, we convincingly won the second league match of the season by a 4-1 margin.

Our youngsters impressed under the watchful eyes of Lázaro Albarracín, Severiano Gil y Gil, Carlos Aguilera, Kiko, Radomir Antic, as well as Getafe director Toni Muñoz, Atleti first team players Antonio López, Arda Turan, Álvaro Domínguez, Mario López, Adrián, Sergio Asenjo and now Osasuna midfielder Raúl García, who all enjoyed the Madrid summer sun at the Cerro del Espino.

After just twelve minutes, the reserve squad’s top scorer last season Collado opened the scoring when he made the most of a pass from Míchel. He rounded the goalkeeper and put the ball away into the empty net.

Some minutes later, left back Javi Cantero scored from a well-taken set piece by Cidoncha, who also delivered two dangerous crosses to Paco Regalón, but the captain was unfortunate with his finishing.

Moments later, Collado added another strike to his account after good work by Cidoncha and Pedro, deciding the match within the half hour.

The striker came close to completing his hat-trick, but saw a goal controversially cancelled because of an offside call.

Collado managed to get his third goal later on though, when he controlled a pass by Cidoncha and again left goalkeeper Matías without a chance.

Just before, Camochu had made the most of a rebound from a corner to score Celta B’s consolation goal.

Line-up: Iago; Kader, Regalón, Míchel, Javi Cantero; Noguera, Fer (“81 Vicente), Cidoncha, Saúl; Collado (“85 Roberto) and Pedro (“72 Ndoye).

Goals: 1-0 Collado (“12); 2-0 Cantero (“19); 3-0 Collado (“25); 3-1 Camochu (“47); 4-1 Collado (“73)

  • Sergio Lopez

Remember this name – Sergio Cidoncha Fernandez. He could become a big player.

  • Edletico

    Where does he play?
Has he come through the ranks or have we just bought him?

  • Derek Maaijen

He was promoted from Atlético C, Ed. He’s an offensive centre midfielder!

  • Edletico

Cheers, hopefully he fulfils his potential

I should follow Cidoncha then. These youngsters excite me more than new transfers. However , almost all new transfers are young and promising this year. We will be able to start a rebellious act against this retarted barca-real circle if the new players and the cantera would be controlled well. At this point, I still have doubts about Manzano.I’m not sure that he was the right choice. Even though I’m not believe in Manzano, I’m always believe in Atletico and hopeful about future.

@dsozkan, I agree with you, it’s always exciting to see the young players have great performances like this gave, it’s still an early season but it seems the B team is gonna have a great season under Radomir Antic’s tenure, but I still think we have work before matching Barca and Madrid canteras, we’re on the right track but it’ll take us time, I think Fer should be the next promoted canterano replacing Assuncao and Tiago eventually.

PS, Does someone know why Gallegos didn’t start or wasn’t even in the bench?, I think he is not developing well, but I have faith in him, I hope he becomes the next Uruguayan sensation at the Calderon someday.

  • dgsozkan

@92, you’re right about real and barca , it’s not easy to match with them in a short time but if we keep trying to improve our cantera we will eventually beat them just like you said.
About Gallegos , I’m really looking forward to see him in Calderon , he has some potential for sure. We’ve just lost a great Uruguayan , I hope he would be a good replacement for Diego. However , he develops under his potential unfortunately.Still , I have faith in him also.
By the way, does anybody has information about Noguera ? He was very promising in fm but unfortunately I haven’t been able to see him playing yet.

  • 92

Thanks, dgsozkan, we have to keep faith in our youngsters as they have the talent and skills but I think they lack the confidence and thrust they need, but I have faith in them and Radomir Antic as well as you, hopefully one day he gets the chance to coach the first team, but for now he still needs has a long way to go, and I hope success comes along with him and the B team. About Noguera unfortunately I have no clue how is he doing, I wish I could help you with that, but I have no access to see the B team matches except for a few videos they post on sites, I think Atleti should make a Atleti or colchonero tv, so that fans like you and me get information about the B team, that would be great.

  • dgsozkan

You are so right about tv.That’s a fact that almost every fan wants to see home-based players in the first team and lots of them like you and me want to follow them when they are in cantera. It would be nice if geting information about them were easier.
Also , I agree with you about Radomir Antic.Thank you for sharing your ideas with me.

@dgsozkan, in this chanel; http://www.youtube.com/user/TorresAtletico9#p/u, there are some videos about some Atletico players, Noguera included, I hope you like it.

  • 92

@92, I think you should type it in your internet browser because it seems if you click it in this website the link is not founded, that’s just great.

  • 92

@dgszkan, my bad the corect link is http://www.youtube.com/user/TorresAtletico9

  • 92

@dgszkan, this site isn’t helping with the link, you need to type http://www.youtube.com/user/TorresAtletico9 andthen get rid of the accent on the e in Atletico, that way the link will work.

  • dgsozkan

This youtube channel is just great.I found more videos than I’ve expected.I’ve become a subscriber in no time. Thanks man , now it would be easier to follow some players.

  • 92

@dgsozkan, glad I could help, enjoy!!!.

  • Sergio Lopez

Edletico, sorry not for answering about Sergio Cidoncha Fernandez (27.08.90, 180/70) is an attacking midfielder, who is also capable to play as central midfielder, winger or even supporting striker. I think he is left-footed. Cidoncha was the best player at Atletico C, also being a captain of the team. I like this talented playmaker.

  • Edletico

    @ Sergio Lopez
Cheers, sounds good, having players like this come through the academy sounds good, hopefully he shows a bit more loyalty then De Gea though..

  • 92

Pardon me if I meddle in your talk, but I think Cidoncha is a little old, so I guess it’s now or never if he wants to make it to the first team, by the way, does anyone know if Fer has already debuted for Atleti’s first team?, I don’t think he has, but I could be wrong, he seems to be the backbone of the B team, but he is 22, which is a little bit old to me, I wonder why he has not being called to the first team giving the fact that he looks the most important player for the B team.

  • Sergio Lopez

Fer was also 21 when he appeared in the B-team. Now he is the leader and it isn’t his fault he hasn’t still made his debut for the first team.

  • 92

I’m not trying to say it his fault, I’m just saying they’re a little bit old in comparison of other talented players who make their first team debut, if it was up to me I would give the canteranos more playing time, starting with Koke, of course it is not the canteranos faul, but Caminero who seems to have little faith in the cantera, and about Cidoncha, for what you said, he seems not only very talented, but versatile, so I don’t know why Manzano hasn’t called him yet to train with the first team, so he can get more experience. It would be nice to see Cidoncha play with the first team and other canteranos, who are loyal to the club and want to contribute to the team’s well-being.
