Filipe passes Madrid medical

Defender to discuss personal terms before signing four year contract

Filipe Luis

The prolonged transfer saga of Filipe Luis’ move to Atlético looks like it will finally be completed, as the player passed a medical this morning after flying out to Madrid yesterday.

AS is reporting that the 24 year old completed his medical without any problems at the Mapfre Majadahonda clinic in the capital.

The Deportivo left-back had been awaiting clearance from Depor president Lendoiro before departing for the Vicente Calderón to discuss personal terms and he’s now expected to sign a four-year contract.

The transfer fee is thought to be in the region of €12million (£9.5m).

The two clubs had been struggling to agree on methods of payment for the defender, with some sources claiming that the Deportivo president was holding out for €6m up-front.

The report says that the player left the medical centre and is now on his way to the Vicente Calderón where he will sign a contract!

Deportivo’s official website claim the Brazilian will give a press conference in the coming days in La Coruna.
