Striker Adrián López underwent an Atlético medical in Madrid on Wednesday morning, Spanish radio station Cadena SER report.

The 23-year-old, who passed the examination, is dead set on joining los Rojiblancos on a free transfer, as his contract with the Galician outfit ran out on the 30th of June.

Meanwhile, Depor continue to stand by their claim that Adrián’s contract was automatically extended using an old Liga clause that is no longer in effect due to rule changes. The club has even summoned the Spanish youth international to appear for pre-season training in Galicia on the 19th of July.

Deportivo president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro reportedly wants €5 million for the youngster.

“My dream is to play for Atlético and I hope the dispute gets resolved soon,” the striker recently told Canal+ Liga.

The UEFA European U-21 Championship Golden Boot winner may be getting his wish as early as next Monday, the 18th of July, when federal judge Miguel Cardenas, acting as an arbitrator in the matter, is scheduled to hear both parties out and make a decision.

I think we should pay Depor some kind of symbolic sum of money.

We have always had good relations with Depor and we should not burn our friendship bridges with them over this small amount of money.

I remember how we burnt the bridges with Porto over Assuncao deal. Still today Porto is very unwilling to do business with us, and god knows Portos can produce some big talents.

    Make it right with Depor!

The problem Davide is that Depor is not playing by the book, they are trying to get money using an expired league rule and they are not entitled to any money. I disagree with you, by paying Depor money we are rewarding scumbag and illegal behavior. Once the judge rules in our favor we do not have to pay anything. We are doing things correctly here. The ones looking bad here are Depor.

Like his resolve to join the team, I hope he is good. Def means we should get rid of Diego Costa if we are going to be playing a 4-3-3 with 1 striker.

I’d be very interested to see that lineup, with Forlan in that playmaking/middle role, he did do well there for Uruguay in the World Cup.

Deportivo is mearly trying to hold on to a talented striker by all rights will do what they can. They don’t have so much money and replacing Adrian will cost money.

I still think we should help them out by giving them a symbolic little sum of money.

Any club would do what they can to not let a talented player leave for free, even Atlético would.

I think calling Depor scumbags is a little harsh as they just trying protect ther finances.
