Atlético Madrid and Nike today presented the club’s new kit for the 2011/2012 season.
The club has not yet agreed a new sponsorship deal, but many fans won’t mind the absence of a sponsor’s logo on the chest. It’s Atleti’s 100th anniversary of the red and white colours (from 1903 to 1911 we wore blue and white) and the retro look makes the shirt even more special.
The Kyocera logo on the back of the kits does remain.
During the presentation Enrique Cerezo explained that the new design represents 100 years of Atlético history. The inside of the shirt has the years 1911 – 2011 inscribed, while embroidery on the inside of our club emblem reads “Un sentimiento, una pasión, un orgullo”, like last year.
Although the club still hopes to find a shirt sponsor, the new kit has entered production and will be available in stores soon.
