Atlético Madrid striker Ibrahima Baldé has signed for Osasuna and will join the Navarrese outfit in the summer. The 20-year old is currently on loan at Numancia.
He has signed a contract until 2014, which includes a €9m buy-out clause.
Osasuna and Atleti had agreed this deal some months ago, as the Senegalese was part of the Juanfran-transfer.
The signing of the winger seems increasingly expensive, as he has featured from the start on only two occassions. We have paid €4.25m for Juanfran with another half million to be added if certain incentives are reached.
Ibrahima is certainly worth a reasonable fee as well, while Osasuna also gained an option of first refusal on Cédric, which means that if a third club makes an offer for him, Osasuna will reserve the right to buy him if they can match the offer. Cédric is currently owned by Numancia, but Atlético have the option to sign him back for a small fee.
Last season, after Sinama-Pongolle’s departure, Ibrahima played a big part for us in the second half of the season. He made 18 appearances and scored three goals. His current campaign at Numancia has been disappointing as a foot injury has kept him out of action for some months. He has only managed to score 2 goals so far in the Liga Adelante.
We might see Ibra back in the Vicente Calderón in a couple of years, because Atleti hold the option to buy the forward back, but until then we wish him all the best at Osasuna.
