After trying to hash out a deal for the last few weeks, it’s looking like Rennes and Atlético have come to an agreement over the transfer of Rod Fanni to Madrid.
The Frenchman stated his desire to come to Atlético last week and it seems the only stumbling block was the fee to be paid between the two clubs.
Despite reports in Marca yesterday that Rennes were looking to get €8million for the deal, AS is reporting that the fee agreed is €4.5m to be paid in three installments over the next two seasons, with the defender signing a three year contract.
All that’s left before the deal is sealed is for Fanni to come to the Vicente Calderon and meet the staff and see the facilities.
Atlético’s attention now turns toward the capture of Luis Filipe from Deportivo, with the two clubs reportedly still haggling over a fee.
UPDATE: On 16th July, AS reported again that Madrid officials were scheduling Fanni to arrive in Madrid to officially sign his Atlético contract over the coming days.
