Atlético Madrid B have yet to win a single away game this season, and the bad streak continued on Sunday as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Badajoz.
The first half hour of the match in Extremadura saw both teams struggling to keep possession and create opportunities, but in the 36th minute Amido scored what would turn out to be the winning goal for the home side. He took advantage of a scrap inside the box after Atleti had failed to clear the ball.
After the break Atlético B improved their performance, but the bad condition of the pitch hindered our reserves in search of an equaliser. There were opportunities for Borja and Roberto Batres, but they failed to make the most of their chances.
In the 78th minute we were given the chance to level the score when the referee awarded Atlético a penalty. Borja González stepped up but failed to convert, which means our second side have now missed four out of five spot kicks this season.
Atlético deserved more out of this match and although the performance was inspiring, they again went home without a win.
