Atlético striker Diego Forlán could be set to miss the match against Sevilla this weekend after spraining his left ankle in training yesterday, reports Atleti’s official site.
The Uruguayan picked up the knock attempting to get past Juan Valera in a practice drill. The injury is described as a minor one (grade I), so there’s a chance the 31-year old may recover in time for the upcoming clash.
Diego Costa and Fran Mérida are the likeliest candidates to take Forlan’s spot in the starting line-up should the Uruguayan be unavailable on Saturday.
Manager Quique Sanchez Flores has everyone else on the squad at his disposal for this encounter.
Who would you like to see in place of Forlán if he can’t play?
