Reserves beat Leganés

Collado's goal enough for the three points

Atletico Madrid B beat Leganes with a goal by Jose Collado

Atleti B celebrate a goal (

While their away record is abysmal, Atlético B are now unbeaten in five after a 1-0 victory over Leganés. Earlier this season the visitors beat us 2-1.

Leganés changed their coach this week and although they didn’t score, they dominated the first half at the Cerro de Espino. When they did appear before Iago the goalkeeper proved once again to be a reliable shot-stopper.

At the end of the first half Atlético grew into the game and just before the break this led to an opportunity for Mínguez, but goalie Falcón pulled off a good save to keep the score level.

Atlético B took the lead after the break, when Roberto Batres won the ball in midfield and launched Mínguez with a great pass. The winger laid the ball on a platter for Collado, who put it in the back of the net.

Our second team got a boost by the goal and continued to attack Leganés’ goal, although they escaped from an equaliser when Sergio Marcos cleared a ball off the line.

It was thrilling until the very end with chances for Batres and Leganés, but no more goals were scored.
