Atlético Madrid B are yet to win an away game this season, so it was business as usual when they lost against Vecindario in Gran Canaria on Sunday (1-0).
In the first encounter of the season between our reserves and Vecindario striker Yeray had decided the match with a late goal. The winger once again earned the three points for his team with a goal in the 7th minute which proved to be enough for the home side.
For the first time this season coach Antonio Rivas started with both Borja and Collado in the line-up, but their teammates weren’t able to provide the strikers with useful balls. However, just after the break Collado got the best opportunity to level the score.
Our reserves were awarded a penalty and the top scorer stepped up, but just like Diego Forlan did with the first team this weekend, he missed. To make matters worse, Collado got himself sent off shortly after with his second yellow card of the match. With a man down Atleti weren’t able to unlock Vecindario’s defence in the remaining half hour.
After three consecutive losses Atlético B are now back in the relegation zone.
Line-up: Iago; César, Regalón, Míchel (“68 Saúl), Cantero; Batres (“46 Hermosa), Joseph, Sergio Marcos, Mínguez (“76 Miramón); Collado and Borja.
