AS reports that Atlético youth product Rubén Pérez, who was loaned out to Deportivo as part of the deal that sent Filipe Luís to the Calderón, will be barred from playing against his former team this Saturday.
A clause in the midfielder’s two-year loan contract requires Deportivo to pay a fee in order to include him in a match selection against Atleti.
Depor President Augusto Lendoiro has already confirmed that his club will not be paying for Rubén to feature this weekend.
“It’s a shame that I can’t play against Atlético, but you have to respect those clauses,” said the 21-year old.
Deportivo will certainly miss Rubén’s presence on the pitch. No Depor player has accumulated more minutes than the Rojiblanco cantera talent in domestic league action (1,190 minutes in 13 appearances). The Andalusian youngster has provided two assists so far in this campaign.
Many Colchonero fans were disappointed to learn that the budding star would be included as collateral in the Filipe deal, after he had made a strong impression early on in pre-season.
