Domínguez returns to training

The defender is in line to return in time for the Madrid derby on 7th November

Atlético defender Álvaro Domínguez returned to the practice field this morning and appears to have fully recovered from the ankle sprain he suffered a little over two weeks ago, the club’s official site reports.

According to MARCA, Domínguez should be match-fit in time for the derby against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on the 7 November.

The 21-year old, who was hurt after receiving a vicious blow while playing for the U-21 Spanish squad in a match against Croatia, was forced to sit out of our last four games.

In other injury news, Juan Valera, who has been out with a thigh injury since our Europa League clash against Rosenborg, began light ball work today.

AS reports Domínguez could already be called up for our match against Almería, which would be great news as he’ll be able to gain some match fitness before the Derbi Madrileño
