Classic Cholo Def Mid-Centric. Ahhh I don’t care…, Lets just get the result !
This what will speak for Itself.

    Aupa ATLETI !!

  • snᴉsɐlB

damn, i wanted to see Lucas instead of Griezmann

  • Vagabond Messi

Lol , what what a starting line up , i think it has more to do with Cholo fitting his players than new strategy , why not play Thomas if you want to play with 4 Cms ?

  • Vagabond Messi

Don’t worry , you might see Lucas as well if Atleti is defending 1 goal lead.

  • Kris

    Thomas gone to AFCON.

  • Vagabond Messi

Poor Cholo , running out of CMs.

  • Karlp

    vamos atleti

  • Atleti lover

With this squad and form we weaker that end of 2016!! What is the point of using Giminez as midfielder what is the point of insisting playing with 4 CM what is the point of using virsaljko instead of JuanFran what is the point of not knowing who to use Torres or gamiero.
And them most important question what is the point of not using Correa and Gaitan? ???????????????

  • Jeronamo Pakor Jones

I’ll wait until the end of the game to share my thoughts on this match

  • ssyoung

Whats the point of playing griezmann and torres? Play filipe and juanfran as strikers and lucas as LB.
What a joke we have become…

  • Zinni DUDU

Hard to watch. Only two attacking players. Three CB, one is playing outpostioned. Well I have the feeling that team is happy with a draw

  • Los Indianos fans ??

Waiting for miracles to happen in the next 45mins ?

  • BOBT

Correa and Gaitan always loose the ball in dangerous places and they dont track back when they loose the ball. Koke has one player who really needs to step up his game. Because with koke playing well Griezmann players better.

  • Los Indianos fans ??

Sorry Correa always tracks back and even commit penalty sometimes…

  • Vagabond Messi

Well , you wanted to see tall and tough platers on the pitch, i guess apart from Griezmann most of the players are tall and hunky .

  • Luca Cakir

    Theres no point!!!!
We should go back to the classic 442 with 4 defenders 2 midfielder 2 wingers and 2 strikers!!

  • BOBT

    goal !!!!! messi Saul!!!

  • AndersAT

He he, that was quite fun I must admit.

  • Karlp

    1-0 saul

  • Karlp

there should be a bet that this 2nd half line-up will be the main line-up for the rest of the season

  • Vagabond Messi

Say whatever you want to say but formation is not the problem , team doesn’t have clue about passing and breaking the defence , i wonder why people call Atleti a superb counter attacking side , people need to watch Villarreal and even Real Madrid to get a better idea of what a good counter attacking side look like. I was criticised heavily on reddit when i said strikers are not the problem , we need to find a creative midfielder. Even Costa had Peak Falcao had Peak Tiago, Diego Ribas and Peak Koke playing alongside him and it was last time when Atleti were a superb Counter attacking side.

  • Karlp

    gameiro please scores pretty please

  • Karlp

griezmann my man. the eyes in my tear

  • Zinni DUDU

Playing tougher players does not mean that you play a CB as DM.

  • Vagabond Messi

Gameiro has every skill of a top player except finishing instinct .

  • iamfaried

    Point proven!

  • Vagabond Messi

I don’t know what you’re complaining about , you whinned about Gameiro being gnom , Cholo benched him with a taller player with bigger physique , and rest of the attacking players were either injured or gnoms. I don’t understand what you’re complaning for, we’ve transfer ban till jan 2017 , and most of the attacking players are too short or weak for your liking.

  • Ahmad Hossainy

Correa always tracks back, and because of that he is our player with more yellow cards this season.
While with his very little playing time, it’s very hard to say if Gaitan does or doesn’t do anything.

  • Vagabond Messi

Gaitan has got reputaion of a very hard working player since his Benefica days , i like him but at the start of the season i said Mkhitarian or a creative player would’ve been a better choice , Mkhi can play on right and is a better player , also younger. Let’s buy Sanchez if our ban gets reduced , he has got one year left on his contract.

  • iamfaried

True, but doesn’t take from the fact that he does lose the ball quite often up top.
I think he’s way too fast for his mind to think about it’s next move, this ends up running into a dead end. And when he does manage to find space, his final touch is in need of improvement.
I personally think Correa can be as good as, if not better than, Aguero. But he needs to improve his tactical edge, and who better than Simeone to teach him, and his shot/final touch.

Gaitan should play once he understands the system more. Keep in mind he comes from a different league and different philosophy. Grizzi and co took 5-6 months to gel in even after moving in the same league. His time will come, given YFC injury.

  • Karlp

so happy none of our player is injured in this bad pitch

  • Vagabond Messi

Yes Gaitan and Correa lose ball because they actually try to do something with while most of the players are clueless when opposition sit back. Actually these two are only players who can dribble in limited pockets. It’s better to lose ball while trying to do something with it then crossing to our short strikers all day long.

  • Kris

    What was proven?

  • Ahmad Hossainy

Since you mentioned Aguero, compare the playing time they both had at Atleti when they were almost at the same age.

Simeone can teach Correa too many things, but I strongly doubt that shot and final touch are among them.

  • Vagabond Messi

Simeone plays Correa wings , he does good when he plays as striker or second striker.

  • iamfaried

There’s a difference between the times. Aguero was played because there weren’t any alternatives as Maxi was played out wide.

And you never know with the shooting training. I remember YFC at first with his flailing shots. Seems to be a sniper at the moment due to simeone and co.

  • iamfaried

That simeone knew what he was doing when he chose his lineup.

  • Ahmad Hossainy

Then let’s all pray that he will know what he is doing every single game, because he didn’t know what he was doing in too many games already this season, 8 games out of 17, we can’t afford any more games where he doesn’t know what he is doing.

  • iamfaried

That’s kind of unfair. He might know what he’s doing on paper, but in reality it doesn’t go according to plan. Mostly down to single player performances on the day, or the quickness of his counter part reacting to the tactics well.

All aside I know we are all behind Atleti getting points, regardless of our different philosophies, so that’s a positive!
