Atlético B wait for a win goes on

Koke misses a penalty in goalless draw against Guadalajara

Atlético Madrid B-player Koke

Atlético B improve weekly, but again couldn’t find the back of the net. After four matches our second team has scored just one goal and earned two points.

Young midfielder Koke was given the perfect opportunity to opening the scoring, but his penalty was saved by Sanmiguel.

Atlético B started the match strongly, pressuring the visitors and hoping to score early on. On-loan striker José Collado caused a lot of problems for Guadalajara’s defence, as the former-Villarreal man proved to be a strong addition to our B-team.

After a half hour defender Cerrudo handballed a Mínguez cross inside his own box and Atleti were given a spotkick, which unfortunately Koke wasn’t able to convert.

In the second half Guadalajara bounced back and created some opportunities of their own, but goalkeeper Iago kept Atlético B in it with some excellent saves.

The last opportunity of the match was again for Koke, but his shot, six minutes before the end, was stopped again by Sanmiguel.

Line-up: Iago; César Ortiz, Regalón, Atienza, Cantero; Roberto, Koke, Sergio Marcos, Mínguez; Saúl and Collado.
Subs: Noguera (“67), Jiménez (“74) and Miramón (“80)

Koke needs to work on his preciseness, that’s what he needs and a little more movement and we have our own Xavi 🙂 or Xabi, since Koke seems a little defensive.

Any idea what’s going on with Alberto Perea?

  • Derek Maaijen

I assume he’s injured, although I haven’t read anything on the matter
