The perfect chance to make amends for the points we lost with both barcelona and villarreal losing this weekend. Hopefully real madrid will join them later.
    Aupa Atleti!!

  • atleti lover

Quote me guys… this team will maximum get 6th or 7th place..
    #sack simeone!

  • AndersAT

    Next season…

  • BlasiusMagnus

7 new players came this summer, they need to adapt. think before you write these idiotic nonsenses.

  • Kris

Not Atleti lover. Stop trolling please.

  • Koke

This is so weird… it seems like this Atleti team lacks intensity. Not what I’m used to seeing by Simeone. Is it because we have so many “nice guys” in the team now? We need more fight, more spirit, more aggression going forward and in defense. Keep Correa, Oliver, and Griezmann on at all costs. Think about subbing Torres for Jackson after 15 minutes. If we’re down late in the game, take out Gabi for a forward or Carrasco. Don’t throw this game away, Simeone.

  • Jeronamo Pakor Jones

When will Simeone realise it’s always going to look like this with Gabi and Tiago on the field at the same time?

  • Ringo

I think we might miss (in form) Koke more than we think.

Gabi and Tiago are good, but Koke brings the game forward so much faster.
Hopefully his injury got Simeone to opt for other offensive players so Koke could use his skills from a deeper playmaking position.

But if he’s not in form, like he’s shown in the first games of the season, he could be too prone to losing possession of the ball. In which case Gabi is probably better, since he’s defensively pretty secure, no matter what form he’s in. Gabi’s passes are just as good as Koke’s, but needs more time to see and give those passes, which is why I want Koke in that position.

I hope we can press enough to force at least an equalizer, but I can see the team needs more time to become consistent, just like Simeone said before this game.

I also think the positioning of some players needs to be more dynamic, sometimes the atleti game moves too slowly because of some static positioning. To trick opponents with possession build-up play, you need some more running. Óliver, Griezmann and especially Correa show glimpses of this, but I think it is not enough.

The 1-0, I don’t know why Gabi suddenly stopped marking Benzema when Carvajal was about to send in the cross, perhaps he still would have lost the duel, but I don’t know because it didn’t look like he was going for it 100% there.

I wouldn’t substitute a player right now. Perhaps Vietto or Carrasco for Torres, but other than one of those, I don’t see the game changing much. They could make the play up front a little more dynamic. I think Vietto would fit better, but Carrasco has shown more influence the times he came into the team.

And if Cholo wants to put on an extra striker, I hope he’ll make Grizi and Correa drop back or keep Oli on, and take some risks by taking off Tiago or Gabi, in this case I think taking off Tiago would be best. That way the forwards can be found by someone instead of being stuck up front while the defensive-minded players are struggling moving the play forward.

Well, AUPA ATLETI in this upcoming second half

    Cheers, guys!

  • Banesy

Carrasco on instead of Óli, playing with 4 real attackers at the moment!

  • Ringo

I feel like they can’t decide between intensity/discipline and joy/freedom, and therefore are stuck in a grey area where it’s not enough of either.

The team is still getting used to eachother, I guess, but this could prove worrying…

  • Ringo

Correa is inconsistent and not as good as he could be, but it is so influential how he can turn pretty much everything into a chance.

If there’s anyone not afraid to take a shot, it’s him. Maybe he should have taken the penalty.

  • Jeronamo Pakor Jones

    This fucking stupid

  • Kris

    Really Vietto for Correa?

  • Ringo

This season Cholo went from a minimal subtistutor (?) to a very early/active one.

  • Kris

    So close, Jackson.

  • Ringo

I’m glad Vietto got his goal, and Jackson his assist and shooting opportunities.

This could change their confidence levels significantly. I hope so.
The last minutes we were playing pretty well.

  • Kris

Griezmann and Correa are direct players. They go towards the goal every time, that’s why their impact can be felt even when they have minimal ball possession. Carrasco running like a bull wasn’t the best thing I saw today, but that was a great tactical switch from Simeone to take advantage of Arbeloa’s substitution. It worked some times, other times, not so much.

  • Ringo

I liked Carrasco’s input at the end… except for that pass to Filipe in the final seconds 🙁 JUST CROSS

  • Kris

Yes, it was a goal and that’s what is needed for strikers. IMO, Correa still would have had a bigger impact, there was so much space on the pitch today. I was really hoping Jackson would also score. Not meant to be. Griezmann is class, even with his penalty miss.

  • Kris

I liked his no look pass to Jackson that led to the goal. Great persistence from Jackson. He just needs that goal to get things going again. Very good player.

  • Kris

Yes, Simeone really wanted the win today. At least we got Vietto’s goal. Wouldn’t have minded a defeat if both Jackson and Vietto had scored today.

  • AaX

THAT was Lucky !! (for real), because that was Atleti against run of form. Imagine when we are in our good one, And for that reason I am still just left a little bit frustrated.
We’ll BEGIN STRONGER after the Break (to Break the slide). New Players (all) have tasted the ‘Blood’, to begin to understand El Derby as to why ? This is ATLETI, FORZA Atleti !!!

  • Chewie

Although Filipe let Carvajal through in the beginning, I think he was stunning today, made several crucial stops and even showed some clever and confident dribbling/movement. Correa – now we know that he has a dark side (see how he steps on opponents’ ankles), but great first half. I like Jackson more with each game – the way he cleanly wins the little challenges and keeps the ball in play is priceless. Overall, a very hungry, aggressive and confident game. When the final sub came in, I thought – well, maybe it’ll work this time. And it did. Maybe Cholo knows what he’s doing, after all.

  • Ahmad Hossainy

If El Cholo managed to keep all his players for a couple of seasons and there was no third “exodus”, he will add at least 5 trophies to the 5 he already has .

  • Kris

No doubt about it, the team just needs to gel together, first.

  • Ahmad Hossainy

That counter he blocked from Bale in the last 3 minutes ! .. that was a sure goal for Real Madrid .
That was an atonement for the goal we conceded because of him, but I would still rotate him with Siqueira, because it’s very obvious that his biggest problems is a physical one .

  • AaX

But We’ll save the Best For Last shall We ?

  • Ahmad Hossainy

When Koke is back, because now Oliver-Correa-Griezmann are undisputed starters behind one of the strikers, which leaves no place for Koke except in the place of one of them .
