While Barcelona officially announced they have a rat problem, a few hours later in sunny Madrid, young Ángel Correa was officially presented as an Atlético Madrid player.
The 20-year-old Argentine was signed last May, but the medical team detected a tumor in his heart and the transfer was nearly scrapped.
However, the youngster persevered through the surgery and his big day as a rojiblanco has finally come.
“For months, Correa played the most important match of his life and he won,” said Atlético de Madrid President Enrique Cerezo.
“You’re a very signing special and this is a presentation we’ve been wanting to do for a while.”
After Atlético signed the promising youngster, photos of young Correa wearing Atleti jerseys and training kits were posted on social media.
“Ever since I was a kid, I’ve dreamed of playing for Atlético. I’ve always liked this team and it’s a dream come true.”
When asked about a possible loan, Correa said that he’s calm and going to work his best in pre-season to earn a spot on the team.
“I’m a kid who still has a lot to learn and there’s no better place to do that than Atleti,” said Correa.
Correa then went out to the field in his new red and white kit to greet the fans.

Like Vietto, Correa has not yet been assigned a squad number.
A few years ago, Simeone said he really liked both Vietto and Correa. Well, now you have them, Cholo.
Now, everything seems to point that the next player to be officially presented will be Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.
