Atlético Madrid announced the departures of two players on Tuesday.

Midfield duo Óliver Torres and Rubén Pérez will join FC Porto and Torino, respectively. Both are leaving on 1-year loan deals.

The temporary exit of Óliver was expected. The Spain U21 international is too talented to let go permanently, but Diego Simeone is not counting on the youngster next season.

Oli will join Porto, where he is reunited with Julen Lopetegui, the coach he knows from his games with the national team.

Rubén Pérez played a single game for Atlético’s first team in 2010. Since then, he’s been on loan at Deportivo la Coruña, Getafe, Betis and Elche. The centre midfielder doesn’t seem to have a future at the Vicente Calderón and will join Torino to play his 5th consecutive season as a loanee. Rubén’s contract at Atleti expires in 2016.

Smh. We can’t see him in our system for last season or next season but he’e good enough for teams like villareal and porto? Gimme a break, I’l never hide my disappointment about not seeing players like oli given fair chances here at atleti

  • It would be a dream.

I’ve mixed feelings, on one hand, I’m upset, because I believe Oli deserved a chance with Atleti first team right now, Koke was on the same age when he got a main role with the first team
but on the other hand, I believe it’s not a bad move, not because it’s Porto, but because it’s Julen Lopetegui

I remember Oli calling him “my football father”
    he coached him in Spain U-18, U-19, U-20 & U-21 teams
so, even if Simeone had a place for Oli in his plans, I think he would have given him from 1000 to 1500 minutes at most, but with Lopetegui, I believe he can reach 4000 minutes, some of them (hopefully) will be in the champions league if they succeeded to qualify to the group stage

About Roben Perez, it seems that nobody cares .. me neither !
he is 25 year-old and this is his 5th loan on the last 5 seasons,
Deportivo, Getafe, Betis, Elche & Torino
it is a weird case, but if you opened Doyen Sports website you will find his name, and then you will realize that it’s not so weird after all !!

Porto is good club for raise up young talent.
I hope he come back with getting the regal presence and perform like Koke.
