Atlético Madrid announced the departures of two players on Tuesday.
Midfield duo Óliver Torres and Rubén Pérez will join FC Porto and Torino, respectively. Both are leaving on 1-year loan deals.
The temporary exit of Óliver was expected. The Spain U21 international is too talented to let go permanently, but Diego Simeone is not counting on the youngster next season.
Oli will join Porto, where he is reunited with Julen Lopetegui, the coach he knows from his games with the national team.
Rubén Pérez played a single game for Atlético’s first team in 2010. Since then, he’s been on loan at Deportivo la Coruña, Getafe, Betis and Elche. The centre midfielder doesn’t seem to have a future at the Vicente Calderón and will join Torino to play his 5th consecutive season as a loanee. Rubén’s contract at Atleti expires in 2016.
