OFFICIAL: Koke, Manquillo, & Óliver extend ’til 2018

Atlético manages to secure future of three of its biggest talents

N'Zonzi earns Sevilla's first win over Atleti in six years

Just as delightful as signing new players is the news that the club has managed to hang on to all the players Diego Simeone is counting on.

Earlier today, Juanfran told This is Atleti host Ricardo Menéndez that Atlético’s best signing of the summer was holding on to Adrián, who was on the verge of leaving the club on the final day of the transfer window.

There is more good news for Atlético Madrid fans, because on Tuesday the club also announced that Koke, Javi Manquillo, and Óliver Torres have all signed contract extensions.

The three canteranos have signed deals that will keep them at the club until 2018.

The fantastic news is further proof of the success of Atlético’s youth system. Manquillo and Óliver were permanently promoted to the first team this summer, while Koke continues to improve on a weekly basis, and has earned himself another call up to the Spanish national team. His younger teammates form part of La Roja’s U21 team, to which Manquillo was added yesterday to replace Real Madrid’s Derik.

fantastic news… i also believe and hope that their buy-out clauses are too high…!!! aupa aleti… agree with ahmad…

  • Great news. purely class hopefuly the release clause are high.

    Thumb up Ahmad.

  • Ahmad Hossainy

Can any body tell me what does this mean ?!

Koke & Manquillo are included in the operation of Villa !!

  • Bess

This means, if we want to sold both players we have to inform Barcelona. Not more and not less. 😉

  • Hopefully the finances won’t be as bad to let that happen.

I hope Manquillo gets enough minutes this season. But with Champions League coming up, he might get some new chances to show his skills soon.
Same for Oliver, but he already got some minutes and being an offensive player, he’s more easily put on the field without shaking the backline up much.

This is massive, will be very important to find out what their buyout clauses are. Atleti needs to stop shorting themselves on this front, I want to see some Busquets-esque shit.

  • Ahmad Hossainy

    Thank you very much Bess

my stomach is sick since I read that news .. I’ve tried to translate it using several dictionaries but there were a couple of words I could not understand

The Spanish Language Institute is half an hour from my house, but sadly I’m so busy

But it’s on the top of my to-do list

although I’m making not too bad progress in teaching my self at home and at work !

  • GreekRojiblanco(piserakos)

hehe ahmad… that’s what it means that if atleti want to sell them barca is the first option…

  • kris

    Great news…

  • kris

Hopefully,, Oliver and Manquillo both much more minutes,, especially Oliver because Manquillo will only replace Juanfran if he’s injured or fatigued…

  • Fred

    I love Atleti!

  • Ahmad Hossainy

Godin has already agreed upon everything and will be the next to sign his extension

give me more Stability .. give me more Success

  • Silchas

Off topic: When is the new stadium ready??

  • Adnan khan

Honestly i have seen the pictures of the new stadium and i have to say i like the old one better. The new one look like all the other stadiums in europe. Vicente calderon is different from other stadiums

  • kris

Actually Adnan, I disagree. The stadium will have fans much closer to the pitch, great seats, great entrance, and will have a great surface and a great roofing.. I think it resembles one of the most modern football stadium Allianz Arena a lot.. If it’s able to host the the Olympics,, it will be really great for our club.

@atletico9,,, you can see the construction pictures here:

  • Ty Gambo

I think the new one looks nice, but I have to agree with Adnan, I think the Calderón has something special about it. It’s so distinguishable and classic in a way.
