Atleti Sporting Director Jesús García Pitarch managed to kill two birds with one stone yesterday. While in talks with Recreativo Huelva for defender Leandro Cabrera, whose loan to the Andalusian side has already been made official, Pitarch was able to settle a loan agreement with Recre for 19-year old striker Ibrahima Baldé as well.
AS reports that Pitarch has already met with Ibra’s agent in order to inform the player and his representatives of the deal. The young attacker was reluctant to go immediately though, and requested a couple of days to consider his alternatives, as several other teams are rumoured to be after his services.
Romanian Liga I sides Cluj, Rapid and Vaslui have all reportedly shown interest in the Senegalese youngster. In Spain, Sporting de Gijón is said to be closely monitoring the striker’s moves.
In other transfer news, Juanito didn’t travel with the team to Mallorca for tonight’s friendly. As has been extensively reported throughout the week, his exit also continues to appear imminent. The former long-time Betis captain was informed by manager Quique Sánchez Flores, upon Diego Godín’s arrival, that he was not going to be relied on for the 2010-11 campaign.
