Atlético had been doing a great job of keeping next season’s kit design under wraps–that was, until Tuesday, when Spanish blog Todo Sobre Camisetas, which translates to ‘Everything About Shirts’, published never-before-seen pictures of what it claims are Atleti’s new home and away jerseys for our 2012/13 campaign.
It had previously been reported in the Spanish press that our second shirt would be a light black to an almost grey colour. It turns out that, if the leaked versions are the real deal, the jersey is both black and grey, while also including red sleeves and a red band at the bottom.
The design for our home games would be very similar to our 2011/12 one, with the most significant change including big-blue-almost-captain-armband-like sleeves as can be seen in green on the Brazilian national team’s current kit.
Also like Brazil’s jersey is the V-neck cut of the shirt’s neckline.
For what it’s worth, Madrid-based paper AS have acknowledged that the revealed prototypes are legit.
More photos of the alleged new models can be seen here.
