Two of last season’s debutants sold

Cédric and Jorge Molino sold, but with buyback options

Atlético have sold two promising young players from Atlético B today. Our second team’s forwards Cédric Mabwati and Jorge Molino have both found a new club.

It’s interesting to note that the duo both debuted last season under Quique Sánchez Flores. Cédric had a short and rather unsuccessful run-out in the Copa del Rey against Recreativo, while Jorge Molino came on as a substitute against Deportivo la Coruña.

Jorge Molino joins Real Murcia, who also play in the Segunda B, although in another region than Atlético B. The forward has signed for two seasons, but we do have the option to buy him back after the first.

It is a surprising transfer, as Antonio Rivas is still looking for forwards for Atlético B, while it doesn’t seem a big step up for Molino.

Cédric Mabwati, a Congolese winger, has signed for Segunda División side Numancia for three seasons. Atleti has the option to buy the 18-year old back for the first two seasons.

Transfer fees for the duo were undisclosed, if there were any. I’ll just leave you guys with this incredible goal Cédric scored against Leganés this past season.

Best of luck to both, I had high hopes for Cédric, hopefully he will do well and return to Atleti 🙂

Cédric was great, but it seemed like he dropped his form after his debut… less appearances for B for example.
I guess the early substitute and lack of confidence from Quique breaked him a while. Even though besides that mistake (penalty) he was really good and full of energy…

Hope he returns in terrific form 😉 Maybe he can promote with Numancia and then prove himself in La Liga.
I always hoped he and Keko would fight for Simão’s spot this season 🙁
