Atlético Madrid right back Sílvio and forward Diego Costa received some good news from the club’s medical staff on Thursday.
Atleti’s official site reports that both players were cleared to play and can hit the training ground to join their team-mates after recovering from their respective injuries.
Sílvio, who had been dealing with a groin issue since the start of the season, sustained a knee sprain on the 20th of November in a match against Levante and had been sidelined since.
The Portuguese defender trained with the squad on Friday for the first time since the knock.
Costa, who doesn’t have a place on the squad because our three non-EU spots are being taken up by Eduardo Salvio, Miranda and Radamel Falcao, tore his ACL in training back on the 27th of July ahead of the first leg of our Europa League qualifier against Stromsgodset.
The Brazilian striker is expected to be loaned out to Rayo during the current winter transfer window.
